My daughter snapped this glamorous couple on the Garonne while dog walking:
That’s Chateau du Cros on the top of the hill in the background. The white swan is a regular, we see it often, but the last time I saw a black swan was in Australia.
And here it is again with another visitor to the Garonne – the Airbus on its way to Toulouse. It goes down river to Langon and then goes by road.
I’ve never seen a black swan before. Thanks! Interesting pic with the Airbus in the background.
When I was a child I was told by a friend that i was making it up when i said that swans could be black. I knew it was true, my aunt had brought me a felt one from Australia.
I always knew they existed but never seen one in real life. Thanks for the pic! Looking forward to the day I actually spot one in the wild myself. 🙂
Seems oddly nice to see a waterway used to transport aircraft parts…such a muddle of transport history…
There used to be black swans on the moat at Nevers….but it was a long time since i was there.
I’m surprised that they are taking the airbus parts by water at the moment. The barges can onlly just get below the Pont Pierre in Bordeaux when the water’s low and it’s really high just now.
